Have you ever had an idea for a design and ended up going down the rabbit hole-creating not one, but 5 or 6? This week’s design challenge for @spoonflower tasked the designers to “reinterpret a classic and create an entry that makes a sophisticated statement”. The classic in question was stripes so you can imagine it wasn’t hard tumbling down to wonderland! Slat Stripes, here in dark blue and green-toned taupe, is my entry for the “Sophisticated Stripes” challenge. Other colourways, along with a bunch of other new stripes, are available in my shop. Thank you to Unsplash, Freepik, and Pexels for the images that were used to make these mockups.

So I’ve been very busy, working away on creating a variety of wallpaper and textile mockups, using the wonderful photo resources available on Unsplash and or Pexels. Once I am almost 100% satisfied with my clipping mask selection, I add a colour filled rectangle smart object. This one defaulted to a glorious golden, sunshiny yellow. Now I’m doing this to showcase my wallpaper designs, but just this solid yellow tone looks so fab on this wall, that I’m getting the itch to paint something yellow! Now on to refining my clipping mask selection and trying out a few of my new designs in this imagined setting. #annettechabidonstudio #surfacepatterndesign #decorative #wallpaper #mockup

This week’s @Spoonflower Design Challenge is all

This week’s @Spoonflower Design Challenge is all about creating designs that would make a statement with wallpaper. A bold, large-scale design that would bring the wow factor to a single wall. Accent walls help to draw the eye and define a space and are a great way to add character to your home. How Many Roses, in a nod to the decadent "Rumors"-the luscious dark red Behr Paint colour of the year, is my entry for the challenge. I think it fits nicely with the Dark Feminine aesthetic, evoking the energy and strength that is woman. You can find it in my Dark Feminine Collection. https://www.spoonflower.com/collections/927913
